mary ellen bartley's bookish snaps
For her series Reading in Color, New York artist Mary Ellen Bartley photographed stacks of books. Nothing more, nothing less – and yet we can’t look away. There are no detailed covers or spines to admire, just page upon page of eye-pleasing colours and carefully balanced forms. It’s simple, but magical to gaze at, and it’s certainly not the first time Mary has used books as sculptures. If you’re intrigued, you can view all her wonderful projects over here.
