How do you build a house that can withstand the violent winds and untamed conditions of the Patagonia region? Pay a visit to El Chaltén, a tiny town of 400 in Argentina, sandwiched between rugged mountains and vast glaciers, and you’ll observe a common thread: pointed roofs, reinforced windows and lots of concrete and brick. Photographer Thibaud Poirier trekked all the way to the remote location – a popular spot for hikers – and went about documenting the curious architecture.
