We’re never quite sure what’s going on in Jasmine Deporta’s photos, and that’s only a good thing. The Italian-born, Switzerland-based photographer hides her subjects’ faces behind beams of light and household objects, and the result is a bewitching set of snaps that only draw us in closer. Looking at her work makes us feel as if we’ve caught these models in the middle of a very private moment – perhaps they are pondering the nature of the universe, or maybe they just needed some time to themselves.
