olivia locher photography
Olivia Locher knows just how we like our photography – sweet and a tad surreal.
Growing up, Olivia Locher struggled to separate her daydreams from real life. Although this may have been problematic in some respects, it’s been a boon as far as her photography’s concerned. The New York-born, Pennsylvania-based shutterbug shoots subjects with a keen sense of the surreal. Her series I Fought the Law, for example, is inspired by strange laws (such as the fact it’s illegal to have an ice-cream cone in your back pocket in Alabama, while in Texas it’s illegal for children to have unusual haircuts). Scroll down to check out some of her work – and pop past her website to check out more (you can also purchase the book version of I Fought the Law there, if you so desire).
