thierry mandon’s strange installations will make you look twice
What would it be like to sip on a nice drop of red while stuck to the side of a dilapidated building, several metres above the ground? We don't know, but Thierry Mandon does.
Over the years, the French artist has created plenty of weird and wonderful art installations, some of which look a wee bit dangerous, if we do say so ourselves. In Tableau vivant, for example, Thierry casually sips on wine and reads a book, despite dangling from the side of a tall, decaying structure. He reads from a risky height once again in Inside-outside, except this time he’s tucked into a bed that’s been wedged into the side of the building, rather than perched on a chair.
