sila gur’s fashion-inspired embroidery
For those of you who enjoy gazing at street style snaps and reminiscing about the golden era of fashion blogging, we suggest you check out the incredibly intricate embroideries of Sila Gur (aka Jolly Hoops). The Turkey-born, Scotland-based artist uses the process of thread painting to stitch detailed scenes of lovely lasses sporting the kinds of outfits that can be found on our Pinterest boards.
Sila studied fine art in high school and fashion in university, but didn’t pick up embroidery until 2018. (She’s self-taught, which makes her work even more impressive!) Pop over to Sila’s Instagram page to spy more of her pretty needlework.
