peep the new ace hotel in sydney
Super-cool American hotel chain Ace is set to open a rad new outpost in Sydney. Designed in partnership with Flack Studio, the boutique hotel is Ace’s first in the Southern Hemisphere. It's housed in Surry Hills’ historic Tyne House brick factory — the site of one of Australia’s first ceramic kilns — and features multiple bars and restaurants.
The swish design of the 264-room hotel is inspired by the warm colours of the Aussie landscape and the local history – from the razor gang wars of the 1920s and 30s through to the Gay Solidarity Group protests of the 1970s.
As you can expect with Ace hotels, the Sydney outpost aims to act as a space where culture, commerce, art and community can come together. While the establishment won’t officially open its doors until next year, it’s currently taking bookings. Check out (or into) the hotel over here.
