nicole nikolich’s glitchy crochet creations
The early days of the internet in the Y2K era were truly a magical time in human history. Microsoft Paint was the greatest invention to ever grace the planet, social media was still in its infancy stage and yet to wreak havoc on our lives and waiting 10 minutes for a single picture to load was considered normal, as well as accidentally downloading enough viruses to destroy the family desktop after trying to get the latest Britney song off Limewire.
It's easy to be incredibly nostalgic for such a unique point in time, and Philly-based crafter Nicole Nikolich uses her super-rad crochet skills to memorialise this specific part of internet history. She creates iconic staples of 2000s internet culture in order to allow a greater understanding of how being online shaped her youth.
