mlle hipolyte's colourful cockatoos
Loudmouth cockatoos are somewhat of a national treasure here, so it’s nice to see them being appreciated halfway across the world, too. Over in France, paper designer Mlle Hipolyte recreates cockies in painstaking fashion – by slicing, scoring and folding layers of paper to form her 3D portraits. Mlle’s feathered friends are jaw-dropping to view up close, where you can see every feather and teensy little talon. It’s not just Aussie birds that she’s fascinated by, either. Her work extends to flowers and deep-sea creatures, and you can see more of it over here.
