mali bakes will bring fresh cookies to your door
You know what might brighten your days at home? Cookies. Great big, gooey, crispy cookies, fresh from the oven. And hey, it just so happens there’s a small business delivering the goods straight to your door (at least if you live in Melbourne). It’s called Mali Bakes and is the brainchild of Patchanida “Patti” Chimkire, a pastry chef who lost her main gig when the coronavirus hit. “I wanted to create something fun with home-baked cookies, which are comforting for people,” she says.
Place an order with Patti on Instagram, and she’ll cook up a fresh batch for delivery on Thursdays and Saturdays (delivery is free for the CBD and inner-north, but it’ll cost you $5 or more if you’re further out). There are three tempting flavours to choose from so far: toasted rye with caramelised white chocolate and dark choc chip, matcha with muscovado and caramelised white choc, and double chocolate with brown butter walnut. Did we mention these treats are so large they call for individual retro paper pouches? Too bloody cute.
