feast your eyes on the decadent art of friendsofmonami
We here at frankie are always on the lookout for some nice-looking cakes to drool over, but these super-detailed creations by friendsofmonami took us a bit by surprise. Amy, the artist behind this project, makes an assortment of intrinsically-iced bags, mirrors, boxes and other goodies that resemble the kind of highly-decorated cakes you’d find in a vintage cookbook.
They may not be edible, but Amy says that her art is inspired by the styles of pastry chefs Normal Wilton and Joseph A. Lambeth, in order to “preserve the art of cake decorating by creating cake objects that last forever”. Take a gander at all of Amy’s stuff over here, or check out her Instagram if you fancy.
