Gather round, glitter-lovers and cosmic folk – Brisbane-based tinsel queen Rachel Burke has teamed up with Canadian shoe designer John Fluevog to create an ace collection of sparkly boots and a Mulberry silk scarf. The metallic, pastel-hued shoes are the kind of kicks we imagine a Victorian space diva would sport (thanks to all that glitter-encrusted leather, brogue detailing and laces), while the scarf is a vibrant, crafty piece.
Fluevog’s designs are known for being rather unconventional, and have been worn by the likes of Madonna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Rachel says the brand’s quirky style is what drew her to the collab. “I’ve always appreciated John’s daring and unique design choices; he has never worried about conforming to the norm but instead celebrates what sets us apart,” she says. “I aim to inject the same magic and joy into people’s everyday life through nostalgic and colourful designs."
