bernie kaminski makes papier-mâché versions of everyday items

By

Who knew that water, flour and a bit of scrap paper could make a new pair of sandals, a crock pot and a cake? We didn't, but apparently Bernie Kaminski did.

The American artist uses our favourite childhood crafting technique – papier-mâché – to whip up super-realistic versions of mundane items, like mugs, undies, sandwiches, and even a medicine cabinet filled with papery pill bottles and toiletries.

While we don't advise you to try eating or wearing any of Bernie's sculptures, we do recommend spending some time gazing at his rad work by popping over to his Instagram grid.

Now, where were we? Oh, we were making a bowl by sticking soggy paper all over a balloon.
