There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing a super-cool outfit and successfully recreating it for yourself. Usually, that style inspiration comes from another person, like a celebrity, a movie character or even a well-dressed stranger that you’ve spotted across the street. But for New York lass Ariel Adkins, that inspiration comes from literal works of art.
Ariel makes and wears detailed garments that are based on paintings, art installations and the occasional picturesque landscape, and documents the looks on her Instagram account, Artfully Awear. Her work is pretty rad, and brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, “life imitates art”. It also makes us look at our surroundings with fresh eyes.
