Long live Video Ezy.

We hate to say it, but the days of popping into the local video shop to pick up a VHS (or if your parents were feeling generous, a shiny DVD) are not just long gone, they’re practically ancient history.

To pay homage to the communal space that was the local video shop, the creative folks at re:group are putting on Coil – an immersive theatre show set in a video shop in the ‘90s, in which the performers shoot a film live on stage before the audience. Coil heads to Sydney this week for sold-out shows, before hitting the Brunswick Mechanics Institute in Melbourne from February 17-19. If you happen to be in the area and you’re in the mood for a little nostalgia-fest, grab a choc top and head this-a-way to nab a ticket.
