China just built a panda-shaped solar farm.

Solar power just got a giant injection of cuteness, thanks to Panda Green Energy Group Limited. The Hong Kong company recently constructed a 248-acre panda-shaped solar farm in Datong, China. The plant, which is currently in its testing phase, is the first of a number of panda-shaped plants that the company promise to erect as part of its “Panda 100 Program”. According to Panda Green Energy, which bills itself as “the world's leading eco-development solutions provider”, a 100 megawatt Panda Power Plant can provide 3.2 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity in 25 years, equivalent to saving around 100,000 tonnes of coal, or reducing around 2.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Interesting, eh?
