Find out what the frankie team has been loving on the telly.

Well hi there, frankie fellows! As part of our shiny new subscriber club, we wanted to take this opportunity to get to know each other a little better. In the coming months, we'll be sharing some sneak peaks into what the frankie team gets up to behind the scenes. It's not all glamour and fancy crafts! We're pretty partial to being couch potatoes, here, if we're being honest. And with all the extra hours we’ve spent on the sofa lately, it's only right that we share some of our binge-watching highlights. Here are a few of the shows we’ve been glued to:

“I’ve watched all four seasons of Crazy Ex Girlfriend three times since lockdown began. (Don’t judge me.) It’s the perfect mix of light, silly, relatable and a little bit serious, too – plus, the cast is talented as heck, and writer/star Rachel Bloom is a deadset genius. POSE is also amazing, about the LGBTQ ballroom scene in 1980s New York. Would highly recommend.” – Sophie, frankie editor.

“I've been watching I May Destroy you which is incredibly heavy in subject matter, but so real and so well written. I love the friendship between the two main characters Bella and Terry, and spoiler alert: there’s a hilarious period-related sex scene. I also recently binged the entire High Fidelity remake in one sitting because I just kept wanting to find out what Zoe Kravitz’s character would wear next.” – Emma, frankie assistant editor and online editor.

“I’ve been watching a lot more Seinfeld because it’s a timeless comedy. Even though it was made in the ‘90s, it doesn’t have that cringe-worthy non-PC vibe that you can get watching dated television shows. I mean, I’m sure it’s there in some form, but thankfully the show just focuses on a bunch of jerks discussing trivial matters.” – Lizzie, frankie production and admin coordinator.

“I’ve been watching a great series on ABC called Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian. It's a beautiful documentary about Miriam’s journey around Australia exploring the concept of mateship. It’s an eye-opening, interesting and emotional journey that challenges your own view of Australia, and makes you reflect in a number of ways.” – Caitlin, frankie senior designer.

The Bold Type because it’s a glamorous version of my life working in the magazine industry and reminds me of why I love my job. And Normal People because it has extensive sex scenes and raw emotional moments. Oh, and Marianne’s style is a vibe!” – Molly, frankie partnerships manager.

“In between diving uncharacteristically cape-first into the entire Marvel Universe, I’ve been loving the Mrs. America mini series. Rose Byrne as Gloria Steinem gives me complete spectacle-eyed envy, and the fact it’s based on historical events makes me love the outfits even more.” – Jess, frankie marketing manager.

“Iso has made me an even bigger fan of gentle British TV shows about cosy things like baking, gardening and antiques, so I’ve gotten pretty into Great Pottery Throw Down (it’s like Bake-Off, but with ceramics!) and Antiques Roadshow. There’s nothing more soothing than watching folks coo over beautifully fired pots or an 18th century spoon.” – Kate, frankie branded content director.

“I’ve been bingeing Schitt’s Creek. Clever writing, perfectly cast over-the-top characters, and Moira’s outrageous outfits and wig collection make for many laugh-out-loud moments. Throughout the series, family relationships grow as do unlikely friendships with those in the local community, and some find love. It’s heartwarming and funny. “ – Gaye, frankie general manager.

Feel free to let us know what great shows you’ve been watching. Stay safe, frankie friends!
