Simple, gooey and rich with chocolate – pearfecto.

You know a cake’s going to be good when it’s basically just the combination of two already-delicious desserts. This here recipe by Lorraine Elliott from Not Quite Nigella teams poached pears with a rich chocolate cake, and quite frankiy, what’s not to like? Making one is as simple as submerging whole pears in an assortment of spices, whacking them into a tin with some cake batter and pre-occuping your eyeballs with some Netflix until they come out of the oven all gooey and yum. There, afternoon tea sorted.
