Our lovely assistant editor Mia Timpano is making a show about the science of conversation.
It’s not often that we toot our own horns around these parts, but we reckon it’s pretty justified this time, so: TOOT, TOOT! Our lovely assistant editor Mia Timpano has taken her love of words off the written page (and screen), creating a comedy show that’s all about the science of conversation.
To quote the lady herself: “I’m diving deep into the science of how humans talk, the rules that force us to talk the way we do, and the consequences of flouting the maxims.” Expect to laugh a lot and learn even more – and probably come away with some top-notch banter, too.
The show will unfold on a cosy stage in Melbourne later this year, but in the meantime, Mia and her wee team have set up a Pozible page where you can lend a hand (or dollar, as it were). Keep an eye on Mia's Facebook and Instagram for updates, and they’ll see you, oh, around about September, apparently.
