Crunchy on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside.

Cinnamon sugar is hands down the best doughnut topping. (Coating? Flavouring? Whatever.) We will not be hearing any other arguments or opinions on this matter, thank you.

OK, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get to Maryanne Cabrera’s (aka The Little Epicurean) recipe for fried doughnut twists that are coated in – you guessed it – cinnamon sugar. Maryanne says the twists are a cross between churros and beignets, and frankly, that's all it takes to intrigue our tiny minds. If you too would like to crunch on some delightfully doughy boys, try your hand at the recipe here.

To accompany you while you embark on your next culinary quest, we’ve cooked up some lovely kitchen merch, including three colourful tea towels and a flower-power apron. Find the lot over at the frankie shop.
