alexander korzer-robinson turns old books into 3d collages
Peek into the whimsical world of an antiquarian book.
These olde worlde collages by German artist Alexander Korzer-Robinson are rather impressive, right? Well, they’re even more spectacular when you learn how they’re made.
When Alexander selects an antiquarian book to use for a collage, he only utilises the illustrations, photographs and diagrams that already exist on the pages within that book. He then makes his way through every page, carefully cutting around some images and removing others – but doesn’t add anything back in. He etches away at the pages until, eventually, a layered 3D artwork remains. Sigh. Perhaps spectacular was an understatement. After spying some of Alexander's intriguing creations below, take a gander at his website for more.
