As well as taking out the award for best Star Wars pun in a band name, Ringo Deathstarr also score marks for churning out tunes with enough guitar fuzz to envelop you in a big warm, stringy hug.

The Texas-based band is yet to head Australia way, but that doesn’t have to stop you from listening to their early rock-inspired music – a new album, Pure Mood, will be out super-soon, and in the meantime there’s always the little sneak peek below.
