tunesday - angie

By Sophie Kalagas

This is the kind of music you want to listen to while wedged in a beanbag in your best pal’s garage, chowing down on pizza and air-drumming on any surface in reach.

Some things you should know about the artist currently known as Angie: she’s partial to neon signs and public transport; is undeniably badass; and has a new album, Free Agent, out on September 4th.

True to its name, the Sydney lass wrote the record while taking some time out on a journey through Paris and Brazil, and the outcome is pretty wonderful indeed. It’s the kind of music you’d want to listen to while wedged in a beanbag in your best pal’s garage, chowing down on pizza and air-drumming on any surface in reach.

Check out the video for “Down For the Count” below – it’s made up of drawings and paintings from Angie’s own hand – then find more from the clever lady on her Facebook page. Or then again, you could have a dance in person at one of the upcoming LP launches.

TOUR DATES:

Saptember 4th - Waywards, Sydney
September 8th - Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane
September 10th - Woolly Mammoth Alehouse, Brisbane
September 12th - The John Curtin, Melbourne
