tomorrow is vintage tee day

Australia's first Vintage Tee Day is tomorrow March 22nd, which means it's time to bring out the most ace, ironic, second-hand t-shirt you have hiding away in the back of your cupboard.

Australia's first Vintage Tee Day is tomorrow March 22nd, which means it's time to bring out the most ace, ironic, second-hand t-shirt you have hiding away in the back of your cupboard (and we're not talking your cool ones - we mean the poo-change country op shop buys with '80s Ken Done graphics).

The folk at Salvo's are putting the event on to try and raise a little sustainable awareness concerning how many band tees we throw out just cos Dire Straits aren't popular anymore. And while classic cotton tees are made of natural materials, they also need to be washed in nearly 3,000 litres of water before they even get to your back.

All the more incentive to spend your lunchbreak today at your local op shop to nab one to wear tomorrow, eh?

Lovely op-shop inspiration snap by Darcy Perkins.
