The next person who sees photographer Daniele Tamagni needs to give him a hearty high-five, since he has gifted the world with a very awesome pictorial series called The Flying Cholitas.

The next person who sees photographer Daniele Tamagni needs to give him a hearty high-five, since he has gifted the world with a very awesome pictorial series called The Flying Cholitas. As Daniele explains, these La Paz ladies are inspired by lucha libre (Bolivian wrestling), “which looks like a circus show with a mix of tragedy and comic choreography, but is much more real than that”. The Flying Cholitas make up a female contingent of head-smackers and arse-kickers in the local Bolivian wrestling world, and have only been around for a decade or so in the hitherto macho sport. Would we want to meet them in a deserted alley at night-time? No, probably not. But with all those layered petticoats, bowlers, braids and brawn, we really like their style.
