get ready for victoria’s midsumma festival
This year’s line-up of LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural events is quite the doozy.
It’s time to make some room in your schedules, Victorian pals, because Midsumma Festival is returning to venues in Melbourne and regional parts of the state for its 34th year.
The festivities will kick off with the Midsumma Carnival on January 23 and will wrap up with the Melbourne Pride street party on February 13, which will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Victoria. In between, there’ll be loads of queer arts and cultural events, including exhibitions, live music, parties, public forums, performances and the super-popular Midsumma Pride March.
