frankie christmas wishlist – iris mcpherson
Our marketing coordinator is dreaming of good food and a happy garden.
Do you enjoy snacking as much as our marketing coordinator Iris enjoys snacking? We highly doubt it. But if you’d like to emulate her enthusiasm for noshing on tasty morsels and pottering around the garden (all while wearing a pretty outfit) then take a gander at her swish wishlist below.
Clockwise from top-left:
1. I’m a big snacker. In fact, I could have snacks for every meal. These plates are handmade by a ceramicist named Frankie, so I almost need it for the namesake. I love all the designs, but this one in particular has all my favourite go-to snacks.
2. I’m a simple girl – I see a new cookbook by Julia Busuttil Nishimura and I immediately need it. Her recipes have never let me down, and at this point I’m convinced she can do no wrong. Her new cookbook is all about simple, seasonal home cooking and has a guide for menus for all your hosting needs!
3. Make-up girlies, Merit is finally available in Australia! I’ve been itching to try their products and their Flush Balm is at the top of my list. It’s hard to pick which colour to go for, but I think Fox would be a nice subtle colour for summer to add some warmth. Plus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free which is a tick in my box!
4. I aspire to be one of the cool Pinterest/TikTok girlies who post their “outfits of the day”. There’s always a fun sneaker and I’ve been wanting to get a pair to spice up boring outfits in a low-effort way (do we see a theme here?). The number of saved sneaker options I have at the moment is a bit embarrassing, but I think these Adidas beauties are the ones I’ll go for.
5. Not too long ago, I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a dress. But now, at the big age of 27, I admit that dresses may be the superior clothing piece. There’s no need to style pieces together (the worst) and you can run out the house with little effort (the best). I’ve been eyeing this dress from Apres Studio for a while now, and I reckon it would be on regular rotation.
6. These quilts from Society of Wanderers have been on my wishlist for years. The colours are so fun and I’d get more use out of them since they’re double sided! This one would bring some colour into my bland room and seems like the perfect weight for balmy summer nights when it’s too hot for an actual doona.
7. In a somewhat strange turn of events, I’ve recently gotten into reformer Pilates and in true ‘Pilates princess’ form, I need some new grip socks. These ones from Leelo Active are from their holiday range and have cute bows on them, in one of my favourite colourways at the moment: pink and red.
8. One of my favourite jewellery brands is Curated Chaotica. They’re based in Melbourne/Naarm and are regularly at Fitzroy Market. I wear their pieces almost every day and love the quality and affordability. Their Gold Fleur necklace is the next one I want to add to my collection as it would be great for layering. So, on the wishlist it goes!
9. It should be well-known by now that I love my gardening. Much like last year and the year before, my flower farm and market garden dreams are still alive and well. I don’t take very good care of my gardening tools and they’re often covered in dirt, but I promise to keep these pretty ones from Kip&Co in tip top condition!
10. I was so excited when I heard Ficifolia was releasing a ‘Sydney’ range. The frankie office loves all their ‘Melbourne’ perfumes, but as the lone ranger living in Sydney/Warrane, I feel like this line speaks to me. With notes of frozen lemon, cyclamen, sea salt and coconut water, the Sunbathers fragrance sounds like a salty summer day in a bottle.
