fake abstract

When less is definitely more.

If you just painted a bunch of super-realistic, classically inspired portraits, the last thing you’d probably think of doing is covering them up – but this is exactly what Spanish artist Lino Lago likes to do. Why? Well, he likes to inspire the viewer’s imagination, and achieves this by blocking out the portrait with a single colour and exposing the artwork underneath with a single scribbled line. They’re striking yet simple, and we look forward to seeing more – or less, as the case may be. Pop over to Lino’s website or Instagram to check out this series, Fake Abstract, in full, along with the rest of his unique works.
