embroidered photos of pop culture icons
Cop an eyeful of this damn fine stitching work on old-school snaps.
Mexican lass Victoria Villasana had a simple idea – stitch colouful patterns on old-school snaps of pop culture icons – but the results are anything but simple. On the contrary, they’re an absolute treat for the eyeballs, and they form part of Victoria’s greater body of textile-based work. She’s interested in how folks relate to each other in a “fragmented, post-digital world”, and reckons we’re lacking in good quality leaders these days (e.g. visionary musos, scribes and activists). See more of her embroidered artworks over on her Instagram.
