ellen porteus - vicious cycles

By Emma Do
13 December 2019

An exhibition about a brain stuck on spin cycle.

Welcome to Ellen Porteus’s larger than life laundromat. It’s called Vicious Cycles, but don’t be fooled into thinking you can drop off a load of dirty laundry round there. For her latest exhibition, the local artist is playing with visual metaphors and confronting her destructive habits and repetitive thoughts in classic Ellen fashion: by splashing walls in bubblegum pink and using her lettering skills to great effect. Featuring giant tongue-in-cheek installations, animation, painting and prints, there's a lot to take in here. Swing by the address below if it takes your fancy.

Vicious Cycles Laundrette
WHEN: December 12-17
WHERE: 15-25 Keele Street, Collingwood
